Greetings from the Department of Music at Radford University!
 

 

 

We are excited to offer your exceptional high school wind players an opportunity to significantly expand and develop their musicianship through participation in the 1st Annual Tri-State Honors Chamber Winds Weekend at Radford University.
 
This unique opportunity is limited to thirty of the finest high school musicians in the SWVA-NETN-NWNC region and will feature master classes, quintet coaching, performances by outstanding professional brass and woodwind ensembles, and a featured performance by participating students. Please note the itinerary for a more detailed description of the opportunities selected students will experience. Students will be selected based on recommendation and the instrumentation needs of four Woodwind Quintets (fl-ob-cl-bssn-hn) and two Brass Quintets (2trp-hn-trb-tuba).
 


We ask that you consult with students who will most benefit from this type of musical experience and carefully complete the online Student Application Form or fill out this printable PDF application. Please submit no more than 10 names, preferably one for each instrument. One Honor Quintet will be invited to participate at no charge. The deadline for submission of Recommendations is OCTOBER 1st. Participants will be notified of their status on October 5, 2007. Music will be mailed to students on October 9th.

The Chamber Wind Participant package includes…

Hotel lodging near the Radford University campus.
Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner for three days / two nights.
Students will be continually chaperoned during their entire stay.
The cost per student is $180.00, payable by accepted participants before November 1, 2007.
