If you have
experience on a wind instrument, we hope that you
will consider performing in one of our fine
ensembles. The Radford University Wind Ensemble and
Symphonic Band are under the direction of
Dr. Wayne
Gallops and provide music majors and non-majors with
wonderful performance opportunities throughout the
academic year. Each year the Bands prepare 6-8
on-campus concerts. The 1500 seat Preston-Bondurant
Auditorium serves as the current performance venue
for the University Bands. Opening in Fall of 2008,
the new Doug and Bea Covington Fine and Performing Arts Center facilities
will serve as home to the RU Bands and will feature
rehearsal halls and a state of the art performance
space.
Placement in the
Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band or RU Pep Band is by
informal audition during the first week of classes.
